Thermostat-again

I know this has been beaten several times but wanted to start fresh for me.

Need to replace old Dometic t-stat with newer programmable one. Bought a Honeywell RTHL 2310/RTHL 221 series t-stat. Dometic has your 6 wire one but reading the Honeywell I couldn't figure out where the Brown wire for low fan goes as instructions said nothing of Brown wire. Called Honeywell tech support and I couldn't finish all my questions and he told me NONE of the Honeywell T-stat will work in an RV 12v system. I told him the trailer is plugged into house current but still told me Honeywell has NO t-stat compatable for rv's/LP tank heaters. Didn't even get to my next question of the red wire regarding were to hook in on 2 red screws-? jumper wire between them. So I took it back to Lowes and now on night shift asking what can I get to replace old one with. Read a different thread and Honeywell was being used? Have until this weekend to fix it for In-Laws who are staying for christmas. Perfer the trailer as they are big campers in Texas. Thanks

You will not get high and low fan, pick the speed you want and tape the other off. The battery in the stat will make your 12V. Your right just jumper off RC/RH. Some folks add a small spst switch to it so they can use both fan speeds. If I remember right Honeywell told another member the same thing when they called. Also if you have a duro therm 2 zone system it will not work because of it being a slave stat. It doesn't sound like you have that problem.
