for most applications, you'll only get a trickle charge and for a low battery, it will take hours of driving to recharge the battery.
only trucks with second alternators or a optional larger alternators, can supply significant amounts of power to recharge in a shorter time.
expecting your tow vehicle to recharge the battery, is the most inefficient way to do it, unless you're driving for a number of hours.
