Understanding Surge Protector Read Out

Recently while on a trip I took a few minutes and looked at my surge protector read out. Now I understand the error codes, what I was trying to understand was the amps, is the number(on the surge protector) what the trailer is drawing. The reason I'm asking is because when I looked we had the Refrigerator, AC and TV all on and probably a couple of other things I didn't know about. The read out was only 16 amps with all these things going. My question was it seemed lower than I expected, I expected it with all these on it would read closer to 20. I Should have had my wife turn the AC on, at another time, so I could see it's start up draw. I know that my 3100 Generator will run my AC just trying to get a grasp on how much it will run besides the AC.

I am using the Progressive right now in the driveway with AC on. When AC starts up it reads 11-12, then drops to 10 when running. When not running, I draw 1 amps from the power panel, co detector and is keeping my battery topped off.

Guess the way I was reading things was right with all that running. Thought it was low because I kept hearing 20 amps for the AC start up alone.

My surprise was finding that I have a smaller AC unit than I thought. But it is doing just great in this 90+ Florida sun, given that the A frame is a small camper. Interesting to watch the Progressive 30 A periodically as I work in the camper so I know what to expect on the road.

I have a 30 ft with a 13500 btu AC and it kept ours cool it was 85 and very humid. Had thermostat set at 65 and as long as door didn't open it actually got there.
