I have a 2016 Forest River Forester 2251. My Forester came with a 12 volt USB charger in the rear of the motor home next to the bed (slide out). There are 2 USB ports and I appreciate that my girlfriend and I can both charge our iPhones overnight. However, I find that after about an hour or 2 of charging, the USB stops working. I smelled something overheating and I took out the screws to examine it and it was HOT. I let it cool down for a few hours and it is working again. It can only seem to charge ONE smart phone at a time. When I plug two phones in it has that overheating problem. Anyone else experience something similar? Do I have a defective USB charger?
This happened this morning on my new 2017 Roo 233s. The smell of burning was quiet concerning until we figured out the source. I disconnected the USB/12v and will deal with after this trip. Dealer said it'll be covered under warranty....

I read that some USB charging ports aren't designed for continuous high amp output and so begin to overheat and fail. I bought this replacement from eBay and it fit nicely n the existing hole for my USB charger. It's beefier and I will let people know how well it holds up.
