USB question

Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I didn't find anything in my searches...also this is my first post so go easy on me!

We had a Wolf Pup 16BH for the last couple seasons and recently traded for a 2018 23DBH. Took it out last weekend and LOVE IT!!! Our question:

This thing has many USB ports but the guy that guided us through our walk-thru told us NOT to charge our valuables with these stations. He explained that they are not regulated, charge "too high" for Phones, tablets, ect., and will burn out the batteries of these devices.

Any truth to this? If there is, why would Forest River install these trailers knowing they would be open to potential lawsuits??

A USB port by definition is regulated down to 5V. Wonder what he is talking about.

I have never heard of such a thing.
USB is only going to put so many miliamps/voltages through them.
Not saying he is wrong, but I have been charging my Iphone through the provided USB ports in our Rockwood 5er since we got it a couple of years ago.

I figured he didn't know what he was talking about. We found it weird that he was so vocal about it. Thanks for your input!

It is possible that your walk-thru guy has seen failures and is advising you based on actual experience. Cheap China USB converters have been known to fail. Early I Phones had bad chargers.

The USB chargers in trailers are running off the 12V. I would be more leery of the ones running off 110VAC

Get a port tester

One of many:
https://www.amazon.com/DROK-Digital-...1D1CW4SED8J3FX

It will also monitor what your device is using
