Cool Using House Battery(s) to start engine

My 2015 Coachmen (MBenz) Prism does NOT have an emergency switch to allow my two house batteries to start the engine when the engine battery has failed.

I understand there is a diode that only allows current flow FROM the engine alternator TO the house batteries when the engine battery is fully charged,

My question is this: were I to temporarily jumper across the diode (using one jumper cable) would that allow the house battery(s) to start the engine?

I am in an RV park using shore power to keep our house batteries charged.

Just put a jumper cable from the house positive to the chassis positive...and start er up!
You can jumper the diode, if the cable itself is heavy enough you can jump the diode...

You can add an emergency start switch if you are feeling handy. Many of us with the MBS chasis have done so. It is nice to know that you can jump the coach batteries and house batteries at the push of a button. Here is the thread.

Good luck
