Using solar plug for trickle charger

We are picking up a new flagstaff micro lite with the figure 8 solar plug.
Assuming the solar panel you can buy has a controller and the plug is a direct connection to the battery can you just plug a trickle charger in for when it's stored? Has anyone done it?

Little confused by the question, Figure 8 is a style of wire and doesn't specify a connector. Most solar panels come with MC4 connectors on the wires or pig tails. You will need to MC4 connectors to the figure 8 cable if there are no connectors. What controller do you have or plan to use? Most controllers have bare wire connections. Output from controller to battery will again be via bare wire connection at controller.

I don't see why not. Use a multimeter and check the plug voltage. If it matches battery volts then your good.
