WFCO converter question

Just picked up a new 2018 Rockwood 232ESP and have a quick question about the converter. I towed it home and have had it parked it for about 2 weeks now. I did plug it in to shore power for a couple days as I was in and out of it setting everything up but since I wasn't going to use it for a bit I unplugged it for about a week. Today I went out to pack some stuff and the battery was dead. Checking around i noticed there was no fuse in the spot for the reverse battery protection slot. I'm assuming that there needs to be a fuse in there to use shore power to charge and keep the battery up? As soon as I put a fuse in, the trailer came back to life. Is it normal for dealers to take that fuse out while on the lot? or did it just make it passed QC like that?

Yes, those are reverse polarity fuses to protect if the battery gets connected backwards.
Likely the dealer screwed up and originally connected the battery backwards and somewhere in finding a replacement fuse, forgot to finish the job of replacing it.

Yes they need to be there for the converter to charge... but... if you plan to leave your rig parked with it unplugged from shore power, you need to disconnect your battery or the parasitic draws will drain the battery in just a few days.

This is usually accomplished with a disconnect switch (many have them from the factory) or by unhooking a cable from the battery itself.

There are thousands of posts about disconnect switches here.

Also usually there are TWO fuses for the reverse polarity protection. (see photo)

You're the second person in the last little while that have been missing the reverse polarity fuses. I wonder if it's a trend.

Here's the thread where I saw it. Location of Reverse Polarity Fuses.

Someone was probably getting a unit ready for a Customer and hooked the battery up wrong, blowing the fuse(s). Rather than walk all the way to the parts room they just went to an unsold unit on the lot and stole one, figuring they'd fix it later.
