What is this?

Is this a factory installed inverter? What does it do? Everything seems to work but this thing made a loud "pop" sound when I plugged in to the 30a RV plug. Thoughts?

It is your breaker box but converter could be near by or the box underneath. Pop could be a breaker throwing but if loud, I doubt it. Some electrical savvy folks will offer more than I can.

Those capacitors usually only pop when the camper gets plugged into 220V instead of 120. You didn't do that, I assume?

If it was plugged into a 220/240 volt outlet, a lot of times it gets more than just the converter. Have you checked the television and microwave (if equipped)?

We have had members who were lucky and it was only the converter that got fried. Hopefully you are one of those.
