What size circuit breaker?

So I have a 55amp converter in my TT. What amperage circuit breaker do we think is under the trailer by the tongue?

That breaker is to protect the trailer from the battery. It could be 30 or 50A. I have seen both.

The under tongue breaker is to prevent a battery short should you sever the umbilical cable between the camper and tow vehicle (there is also one on the Tow Vehicle side in the fuse box).

30 or 40 amps is appropriate since that fuse will not see more than charging current going through it. I would start with 30 amps and see if it works fine without blowing.

If your under trailer fuse area looks like this, the green fuse holder is for your tongue jack and the resettable umbilical fuse is actually the little box with the two red wires. If that has "blown", the little button on the short side would have "popped"; just push it back in to reset. If it will not reset, you either have a short that needs to be tracked down and fixed, or a bad fuse.

Remove a terminal wire from your battery, then try to reset. If it does, its in the wiring, if not, replace the fuse.

NOTE: Stock photo! Your fuse will not be 20 amps like the photo.
