My experience with Renogy was very good - called them twice with questions (once before purchase and once during install). Both times I talked to knowledgeable and helpful people.

Super easy install. Only tough thing was mounting he controller. What brilliant engineer put the mounting slots where you can't put a screwdriver on them? Ended up mounting the controller on a piece of phenolic material I had sitting around, then screwing that to the wall. Originally connected the output to the battery bus but then realized that put it downstream of the disconnect so couldn't kill 12 volts to the coach so moved it to the battery side of the disconnect. Need to add a disconnect between the controller and battery and controller and panels.

Batteries were at 12.9 volts and once connected charge voltage jumped to 14.1. I've NEVER seen over 13 volts off the WFCO converter, this should really help battery charge, etc.

Also changed out the WFCO to PD 65 amp converter.

Should be all set now for comfortable boondocking.

I don't understand the point of these. Why not just buy a standalone battery, controller and inverter?

Because it is a complete standalone system. All you need is a portable solar panel to recharge it or you can attach it to your battery system or plug it in and recharge it. Then use it to power just about anything you want inside your trailer. If you look at the YouTube‘s, you will find one guy that powers his entire VW camper with it winter and summer and charges it from the solar panel on his roof. They are everything >all in one< and they only weigh 25 pounds.

>I could carry< my 220W 14.4A-15.4V) foldable PowerFilm (14Lb) + the 1100WH (90amh@12.6 V) Inergy (25Lb). Which has built-in MPPT @ 2000 cycle\3hr charge time + built-in AC 1500W pure sine Inverter with 3000W start surge + USB & USB Qual Comm + EC8. All @ 25 Lb!
Now I can use my 50” LCD Tv monitor & laptop, while charging my IPhone & IPad & be warm as toast in my queen electric blanket, while grabbing a cold one from my fridge. Way back in the bush 4 a couple months...

That’s Y...
Hope I answered Ur Y sufficiently???

If not how about the Renogy Deluxe 1000 starter system >>> shrunk to a boom box<<< but way better...

If you have a small van, I could see it. Not if you have a travel trailer or a motorhome. Since the OP has a 30' 5th wheel, sounds like something he wouldn't want.

Maybe you can explain Y someone, like the OP, who started the thread would want one of these. I sure can't.

Curious as to how long it will run the heating blanket or a few other energy hungry devices.

Even a 100W blanket will completely discharge a 90AH Lithium battery in 9 hours.

BTW, the batteries in this thing are not LiFePO4 batteries and therefor not even close to being as safe.

Babcock, those were my thoughts as well. The OP needs to look at the time used and current draw to get an idea if the things he wants to do, will even work, and for how long. Let alone figure out his recharge rates. Might work if going totally minimalistic. From what I see, needs bigger recharging, bigger battery bank.

Bought my panel from Walmart online last year. Found 100w Renogy with controller at a good price.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Renogy-10...?selected=true

You might be able to buy the panel separate for around $110. The 30amp controller could be found for $45 or so.
Also depends on mono or poly.

I bought a few of the miscellaneous items i needed from them, as they are nearby. I found them extremely helpful and willing to give information.
