Which size generator.

Recently purchased a wildwood 175bh and will be staying at alot of campgrounds this summer without power hook ups. We were looking at getting the Honda 2000 generator. Will this be big enough, just need it to run the AC/heat and some lights and TV for the kids.

Quick answer: no. You will need a pair of those

Do a generator search on the forum and will come back with about a trillion threads on your question

If you want to run the a/c, you'll need more power.
The Honda 2000i will run everything else.
You have two choices:
Parallel two 2000w units @50lbs each.
Or get a single 3000w+ unit weighing 75lbs or more.

Just make sure it's an inverter generator.

What size generator?

We had an older 4,500-watt Generac generator and thought it would work the A-C unit on our 2015 Wildcat Maxx.
We found out last summer when we needed the air conditioner and it wouldn't get past the start power surge.
I really didn't want to damage the AC unit so we found a Champion from our nearby (almost 2 hours away!) Camping World that was a 7500-watt generator with a 30 amp RV plug.
Although it was on sale at the time it was still around $800.00, but that's way less than the Honda's, buying either 2 of the 2000 size or one of the 3000 size generators.
We used it for over a week daily in the afternoon when it got too hot. Although it is very loud when in operation it runs everything in the trailer just like it was plugged in at an RV park.
And by loud I mean the paperwork says "78 Db", well try around 90 Db by my meter. It is pretty heavy too, just over 200 pounds, but we can lift it into the bed of our truck working together.
All things to keep in mind if you're ultimately going to go generator shopping.
We also do have a 2000i Honda and as another post wrote, if you don't need the AC and don't try to use the microwave with the fridge on auto or electric only, or like a George Forman Grille heavy use electric device at the same time, it will work for the TV and such.

If you camped next to me with the noisemaker, you'd find out what the bad side of me is really like...

I needed to parallel my 2000i and my 1000i to run my camper a/c. Just bought one of these so my 13,500 Dometic and 2000i can get along by themselves. Will install it soon and let you know how it works.

Yes but you don't need to run a generator to power a tv and fan.
Using an inverter, you can easily run them off the batteries.
Then just run the generator for a couple of hours the next day to recharge the batteries.
