Why replace converter/charger ?

I'm going out on a limb here and probably won't be to popular. I'm posting 'cause I want answers and opinions from you. Your knowledge, experience and opinions are valuable. With the internet there is NO reason not to at least be educated on a subject. So here goes.

My FR 26BH TT has a Paralllax 7355 that is internally bad. The 110AC panel and 12vdc panels, and all internal wiring, batteries are good. Without the Parallax I have use of everything in the unit exceptb a single stage charger for my 12v and a SPMS for shore power. I know about the upgrade to three stage.

Why would I want to replace ? For convenience ? I would say I'm an average 8 year RVer. Not full time. The converter isn't doing anything when boondocking. When hooked up could I just have a separate charger/maintainer for the batteries ?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Not sure if you don't want to spend the money? But for 200.00 + or - I would replace with this.
PD4560 50 Amp Power Center with 60 Amp Converter/Charger
Then theres no worry and wont have to worry about turning your portable charger on or off or running a cord to it.

I am thinking resale as well.
