Will 12 volt socket with inverter, power tv and receiver?

I have a Grey Wolf 21rr and above the tv is a 12 volt socket. Can I plug in a small inverter and operate my tv and a satellite receiver when when no electric hookups are available? Is the wiring in the trailer adequate to do this?

What kind of TV?
Average consumption of a good quality 26" LCD is between 40-60 watts.
Satellite receivers about 20-40 watts.

The lower quality of the components the more wattage they will consume because of low quality power supplies.

The tv that came with it is a 19" and says 40 watts on the back. I plan to buy a dish and receiver between now and spring to be ready for next years camping season. Also I would like to install a little larger tv. I would like to be able to spend three days boondocking or dry camping with two deep cycle batteries and no generator.

Not sure you will get three days without a charge. Maybe a solar panel to refresh your batteries during the day.
I would also keep your inverter under 180 watts.

The Winegard Wall Plate 12V socket is rated for a maximum of 7.5A so that's about 90W.

Check your battery AmpHour capacity - typical values vary from 50Ah to 120Ah for a single 12V Deep Cycle Marine/RV battery so you cannot run too much equipment before you deplete it.

If that socket is only rated for 7.5 amps then I would be thinking to either run a new power cable for the inverter or go all 12v TV and Satellite receiver.

Wouldn't that socket be fused for protection from an accidental overload?

If you are planning on a new tv think about LED vs LCD. LED can be bigger while using fewer watts.

It should be fused, unlikely that it isn't.

Fuses don't provide overload protection, they are for faults.

The smallest fuse in my breaker panel is 15A and none of the labels mention the 12V outlet, which doesn't seem to have an integral fuse.

Some folks have found a hidden inline fuse in the 12 socket wiring behind
the wall.
Sheesh, there outta be a law against hiding fuses!

There is no clear cut answer to your question -- will the socket handle it?

I added a socket to the wire running my concertone radio/dvd player.
I use a plug in inverter and watch TV on a little 19" LCD TV.
Don't know the wattage off hand.
We can go 5 days on 2 12v "deep cycle/marine crank" batteries.
Nothing special.
We watch an hour of TV a day and pump a tank of water in that time.
By day 5 we're getting pretty low on charge but we've done this several
times. This is in the summer, we're very frugal on lights. We do run our
Maxxair ceiling fan on low a few hours per night.

I'm sure it's fused via another circuit otherwise a consumer 12v outlet is a fire waiting to happen.

I turn a light off and by the time I turn around one of the other 4 in my family has turned it back on!! No matter what time of day it is.

The panel has both 120v breakers and 12v fuses. Plus many 12v items have inline fuses going to the item. Fuses do supply overload protection. If you have a 15 amp fuse and draw 20 amps the fuse will fail.
