13.5 a/c. It was night, so no lights were on, I even switched the frig to propane and it was still overloading.

I will get a volt meter and monitor that.

Should I be more worried about Volts or Amps?

tmas, do both generators quit? I am wondering if the parallel setup has an issue? Does one generator speed up at all, like a fuel supply issue. This could cause the load to be transferred to one generator causing it to stop. Are you running premium fuel with stabilizer as well.

In order to test the current you need a breakout and a clamp on ammeter, something best left for a electrician.

It would vary, sometime both would overload, other times one of them would not be running.

Both were filled with regular gas (87 octane).

After this weekend I ran stabil through both generators and changed the oil.

I agree with B&B there must be a problem with your connection.

Other than gas, what can I check on my generators or dual power cable?

Thanks again for all the help.

Maybe your parallel kit is not working correctly. Check the small pins on the plugs for arcing and make sure they are not black or look like welding has happened, might be brass in color with the nickel plate worn off.

I will look at my candles tonight. When connecting the banana plugs, do they lock in place?
