Zamp connection to Renogy

I purchased a Renogy solar panel and a charge controller with an adapter to switch polaritys for the Zamp connector. My charge controller states “ connect battery terminal wires to charge controller first then connect solar panels”.
Has anyone had experience with this?

Yes. As the instructions say, hook up your charge controller to the batteries before hooking up the solar panels to the controller. The charge from your panels will burn up the controller if the controller is not hooked up to the batteries first.

Good luck!

Most all controllers want to be connected to the battery 12V prior to connecting the panels. The 12V from the battery power the controller. I would also cut off the zamp connector and replace it with MC-4 connectors. Just a cleaner install.
