2014 Salem 30QBSS ~ Slide out gear mechanism. ..

Going over the TT for next weekend's maiden voyage and noticed while underneath that the gears and main slide out bars have no grease.... Lubed everything up even wire brushed and painted the frame due to significant rust...Anybody have have this concern or am I just being over picky with the under side.

Dont grease the gears on your slide! It will eventually gum up and pick up every kind of road debris there is! They make a lube for them, WD-40 will work in a pinch.

And the rust spots, you are doing the same as I do. Crawl under and look all the time is what I do. If your got your tt during winter or it may have been pulled from factory on salty roads. My Salem is not to bad under there.

Grease is bad. Its like glue for dirt. I use a spray graphite

Thanks! Looks like I'll be cleaning off the gears and spraying them instead of grease. ...
