The leg closest to the control I set to 5 holes. Then lower until it barely touches the board/ground. Then I drop the other leg to the ground/board. Raise to disconnect the truck. This seams to compensate for the uneven ground the RV may find. Works every time..

I used some lithium grease but silicone would work as well. With the JT Strongarms installed they do hang up and require a little more force to move up/down before locking the pin in.

That could be our issue as we do have the JT strongarms as well.

Thanks to everyone for your insight! Guess we'll make a change in the way we deploy our landing gear in the future..starting tomorrow...as we are headed out for a camping trip to the Colorado Springs area (Mueller State Park) and then on to the FamCamp at the Air Force Academy in preparation to attend the Navy @ Air Force football game on October 4th.
