8272S slideout lube?

We have a 2007 8272S Rockwood Signature Ultralite travel trailer. It has one dinette slide. A friend recommended dry-lubing the slideout mechanism. I am not having any noise or operation problem. I also read that even a dry lube is not necessary unless there is noise or wear. Is the dry lube a proper preventive maintenance or overkill?

Better to lube before trouble starts. I dry lube mine twice a year and lube the seals with seal lube once a month.
