Axle Rusting?

Almost 2 year old Sabre. The axles are all corroided. The dealer repainted the frame with black paint last year " 1 year warranty" . They did not wash the salt off after delivery. Now all the paint is off the axels and they are rusting. Never drove in salt. I have the 2 year extended warranty, does anyone else have concerns about the rusting of the axels?

Apparently frames & axles have rust on them before they are ever assembled into a TT... Therefore this summer I am coating my TT & TV underbellies with a product called POR-15. If you do a search on these forums you can find other folks who have used this product successfully to prevent the frame from rusting further...

If you ever visit any of the Elkhart or Goshen manufacturers you will see that they store all the major components just laying in the parking lots totally unprotected from the elements. Any trailer built between say late October and March will arrive with rusted suspension springs and shackles. Most rust will be the iron propane main pipe.

When I asked Forest River about rusty trailers being delivered, their official response is we DO NOT warranty for rust. The 3rd party pipe manufacturer does NOT powdercoat that pipe. They suggest that after delivery, the new owner or the delivery dealer should treat for rust as part of the owners maintenance.

Basically, rust on a new Forest River unit at delivery is to be expected when units are built in the winter. This is not a lie, check any winter built unit youself.
