Bad tire - Akuret HF188

I've posted the picture of my bad tire once or twice. I assumed it was me. When the tire guy saw the bubble, he immediately said it was a road hazard/impact and reflected a broken rib. Looking at the top of the tire across the tread showed it was pretty deformed- riding higher on the inside than the outside (broken ribs, again- he reiterated road hazard).

Taking the tire off of the wheel told a different story... the bubble on the outside was ONE OF THREE. There were two on the inside of the tire- one very long oblong one and a smaller one (though still about the same size as the outside one). The inside of the tire didn't reflect any damage. He said it was bad. I feel lucky to have found it when and how I did (my final walk around before moving the camper; I try to do it every time I stop). (A note- the tire guy gains nothing by telling me to contact the manufacturer; I had already bought new tires and he was only mounting them.)

I'm not quite sure who to contact next. Either Palomino or go directly to the tire mfr. Nor am I sure what I'm after as I have replaced all 4 tires (I used to think people were exaggerating when they'd replace brand new tires on a camper; now I'm not so sure). Thankfully I found it when I was parked and didn't have a blow out (which seems eminent!). Maybe a replacement tire to sell with the other 2 "good" tires.

You can probably get warranty to get a check for the bad one. The rest good luck.

We bought our camper last March had a blow out in early July. They sent us a check for the bad one and we replaced the other 5 China bombs!!!

Yeah- I don't want anything for the other 4. One's down already due to a nail in the shoulder. Not the tire's fault.

I'll just sell them on Craigslist.

Why would you sell the 2 'good' tires to someone when you know they are not really good unless they are going to make tire swings out of them?

Man you got lucky to have noticed those hernia's before setting out down the highway. Best of luck with the Goodyears!

We replaced our 10 ply with 12 ply. We believe that it probably should of had them on there to begin with.

After the blowout on the 10 didn't want to take the chance. We were very lucky. No one got hurt #1 . #2 no damage to the camper!!

Maxxis m8008 instead of Goodyears. But still- a heck of a lot better than what I have now!
