Bad tire wear on 1 of 4 tires
So I have a 2014 Grey Wolf 21rr with around 2500 miles and the right rear China Bomb tire is showing serious signs of wear on the outside edge. All the other tires are wearing normally. Any ideas? I've sent pictures to my dealer, just waiting to hear back from them..... Hopefully the pics below show up... Order of the pictures are: right rear, right rear, right front, left rear, left front
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Forest River Forums mobile app

May just be the picture, but your left rear appears to have some wear also. I would say the rear axle is out of alignment. Do you have torsion axles?

Answered my own question. Saw a spring in one of the pictures. Measure the diagonals of your front and rear mounting brackets and centers between wheels. Your diagonals should be within 3/8" or less (that's what Lippert deems acceptable), and your centerlines should be the same.

So It's been at camping world for 5 weeks now, they determined both axles are out of square (wow, took 5 weeks to determine that... Lol) they are talking with forest river to find out the way ahead. CW may not be able to replace/align the axles since they said they do not have the the right equipment?? Anybody know of a good trailer / axle shop in central Alabama?

Camping World is jerking your chain! It takes 15 minutes to measure and see if the axles are out of alignment. Find another dealer or trailer repair shop, you can also call FR and they can suggest a place to take it.

The axle company ( Lippert??) should provide dealer with a measurement guide. Are those tires Vail Sport bias tires?

Just as an update, the right side axle is 3/8" further back than the left side. Still waiting on Lippert to approve the warranty claim. Both axles/springs/hangers and all 4 tires will have to be replaced. Going on 8 weeks without a camper

Same Problem, one tire out of four has bad wear.
I have a 2011 Sandpiper 5th wheel. Original set of tires. The right front tire has heavy wear on the outside edge. Does anyone know the warranty period on, I haven't checked yet but am assuming, lippert axles? Thanks.

I had same problem on a 2013 Wildcat last year. Rear axle was further back in right side. Hanger was welded too far back on frame. Ended up trading it, and sad part is dealer never fixed it. Got sold that way with same tires.

Bad tire wear on one of four tires.
I had the axles checked and the front axle on right side was way out of adjustment. I had them adjust both axles. Was pleased with the service and the price.

My wolf pup has bad ware(600 to 1000 miles) and the inside tread is gone. Susquehanna co. Selinsgrove Pa. Said the axle and tires are within tolerance. The top of the tire is one half inch sloped in. This is the second axle and tires they put on. So they admitted they were bad the first time by replacing them, but not the second time. May check into class action law suit.any ideas out there?

Had the same thing happen to our Cedar Creek 29IK. We took to a trailer alignment shop and found a bent spindle was the cause. Now having to fight with Forrest River to get it fixed. Trailer is six months old, and no we have hit anything but the road.

Bent Spindle. I hade the same issue seems these Cedar Creek 29IK left front tire only, inside thread only.. I did not notice the wear until after about 2k miles. Getting a look under the rig revealed a loose leaf spring clamp nut also "Yikes". Had the rig checked out buy a trailer service center to perform a Laser Alignment.
The bad news was a bent spindle, But I had taken photos (cell phone) as proof of the loose parts. I made my case calling the warranty Rep at Forest River that the assembly was not properly installed when the coach was built and since the causation could not directly be established with any certainty they agreed to replace both Axles. Forest River did have to mediate this process with Dexter manufacturing. I've come to the understanding that the Axle assemblies come into (Cedar Creek) assembly plant fully assembled and they essentially bolt them in place.
Remember that when you have issues take photos they can go a long way with regards to Warranty issues.
