Thanks for all the replies. I called Goodyear and they too said it's probably separating on the inside. If so they will replace it for free, or prorate depending on tread depth. BTW it's off the trailer and will not go back on! Scary because I almost didn't pack the bearings until after our Memorial Day trip! So glad I did! Just one more thing to add to check. Jerry

You really need to dump these tires. Getting another one will eventually end up the same as will the remaining 3. There are pages and pages of discussion on MaraBombs on various RV websites ... I have had and know several RV owners that have had nothing but bad luck running them. Torn up skirting costs money to repair. We can't all be dilusional. MaraBombs are passable for a 6000# camper, but are way out of their league on the heavier RV's. I know buying another set of tires says $$$$$, but won't you get tired of looking at your tow mirrors every other mile checking .... what's the price of peace of mind and a enjoyable trip???

I love this website... it is filled with wonderful information and people...
That being said... it makes me a nervous wreck. I bought a set of Marathons to replace a perfect(non leaking) set of factory tires...OK... there in my garage because I scared to jack up the trailer(ok and I have been busy)+ I have only been on 1 short trip since I bought them. NOW they are junk... it is a CRUEL world.

Taller tire may have a belt separation in it. You should deflate it immediately and take it to a Goodyear dealer to be checked. Also check the width of the wheels. A wheel that is to narrow will make the tire look rounder and taller.

I would have to say after looking at the tires, the shortest tire height is good, but the tallest tire is defective. The taller tire has a shifted belt, it's not flat on the tread area. More rounded. This is why the tire is taller. Replace the tire as it will be failing very soon. If you roll the tire down a flat surface it will go into a certain direction. We're as the shorter tire will roll realitiv

I have the same issue on my trailer, but with all 4 tires. They are Goodyear Marathons ST225 75 R15. I noticed that the tread on one of them was worn completely out on both inside and outside edges after only 6000 miles, (bent spindle I'm afraid) so I replaced it. While mounting the new tire, I noticed that the old tires were much taller and much more oval shaped than the new one. (just like in your photo) I have another new Marathon as a spare, and am thinking of putting it on the ground and replacing the other two with Maxxis M8008 tires. Does anyone see a problem with mixing the two brands?

i'd stick with one brand and one style. also look at the KUMHO eurometric tires as i posted earlier. we've hauled for 8 to 10 hours straight each day travelling in mid july heat with no issues.
the tire dealer we purchased the set of 5 from when we switched off our original Chineese junk tires which wore inside and outside treads (had our axles checked - cleared for hauling) said they have sold hundreds of them with no issues...
and we also use the Truck Systems Technologies TPS system.

The plys are just breaking down onthe tire. Happens quite often on the oems. As for the seals, oem grease is semi-viscuous and likes to migrats past the seals. Sherk the zerks and just go some good grease.

Just my opinion though.

Iwannacamp, I wouldn't worry to much Marthrons are good tires I have thousands of mile on mine and they still look new. Had them on a Jayco I had for years and the trail weight about 3000# more, never had a problem. One good thing is that any GY tire will take care of a problem on the road anywhere. Just find the closest dealer. I do admit I have never saw that before, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over my tire choice. Anything is better then Trail Express.....
