Bike Rack

Hey all,

I have a 2015 FR Sierra 365 SAQB. Can the bumper support a bike rack, with a 2 inch receiver modification?

The bumpers cannot withstand bike racks. They're generally very flimsy and the welds aren't up for the extra weight and torque of bikes.

Bumper no good, but you may have an option. Give Lippert a call, the designer and manufacturer of your frame, and see if the tail of your rails will take one of their bike rack - only receiver mounts. I think they are all weld-ons at this point. If they say yes, and it's good to use, have them provide you that in writing along with the installation instructions such to not concern with frame warranty. They will if it's GTG.

Antojen,
Whatever they tell you and sell you GET IT IN WRITING. If you later on have an issue with the chassis they will deny any warranty repairs because of something you added. They denied me for a hitch on the back and said it was added not by them yet I know it came from the factory like that. I lost all faith in Lippert and wish you luck. My next coach will not have a Lippert frame, even if it means going outside Forest River.

most ultralight trailers will have a sticker on the bumper, stating such a mod will void the frame warranty.
but i don't think the Sierra is an ultralight, so contacting Lippert and getting an approval email or letter from them would be a good idea.
