Brake controller question

Hi I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado with the factory installed brake controller. When applying the brakes manually it will not lock up the brakes even with the gain set all the way up. Should my trailer brakes be adjusted?

be something to look at, or see if they are working at all. Make sure they are responding to the controller

You may have to install a fuse or relay. Had to do something like this for a 2012 Silverado. Check your owners manual.

The brakes work. They won't lock up when increasing the gain to the max. That's why I think they need to be adjusted.

You might want to pull one hub. Check for grease on inside flat surface. If you have greasable hubs sometimes the grease seals go bad and contaminate everything. Ask me how I know, had same experience

This is a year old trailer that the brakes have never been serviced.

all the more reason to look. I service a rental fleet. 40% had grease contamination at less than one year. oem grease needs replacement asap IMO
