Brake noise when backing up (Solved)

When I was backing into my storage spot the other day, I heard a very load grinding noise in the rear axle/hub/brake area. So tonight I finally got around to raising the wheel to rotate the tire. Rotating it foward seem's to be fine. Heard a little rubbing of the brake shoe's. But when I tried to rotate it in reverse it would turn with resistance and would lock up. I could rotate it foward, then I tryed to rotate in reverse it would rotate a small amount and lock up again. I was not able to remove the hub at this time. Was just hoping someone could give me a idea, before I call the dealer. (Not wanting to deal with them. )

I have a Coachman with a Lippert Axle 3500#
All above was done not hooked up to the TV.

are you sure it is a Lippert and not a Al-Ko axle assembly?

if it turns forward but not backwards very well - hard to tell without taking it apart to get a looksy

if it is just the axles and the trailer is not under warranty - and trailer place can look at the axles and probably alot less then the RV dealer will charge.

Positive on the Lippert Axle. Crawled under to get serial and model number. Has Lippert label all over it. I do have extended warrenty, for what thats worth. (I'm sure for some reason it won't be covered though.)

Thats kind of what I was/am hoping it is. I'm going to go back up tomorrow and pull the hub and look. Thanks.

Spring and adjusting wheel were loose. Fell right out when I removed the brake drum. I will have to get drum truned and get new spring, it was almost cut thru.
