I currently use a battery tender during winterizing the 5r. I once thought of pulling the pin on the breakaway lock to ensure the 5r was secured. The question is what damage would occur to the break system.

The break away should only be used in an emergency I would use some type of locking chocks or a king pin lock to secure the 5er

Don't know your system, but some (read: all I've heard of) of those breakaways operate under power. I.e. Pull pin, drain battery.

you could also damage the electric brakes, along with draining the battery.
they aren't parking brakes!

You will energize the brakes and after awhile I would suspect that something in there would fry..... don't fry your wiring at your brakes or your batt. chock the wheels.

You will end up replacing your magnets and some wiring more than likely, plus a dead battery if you do this. Wheel chocks are the way to go.

Like others have said, you'll fry your brakes,drain your batteries,and maybe burn up wiring by doing this.

If someone wants your RV bad enough they can simply reset (replace) the breakaway switch - it's a common replaceable item.
