Can I change tire size?

I'm in the market for new tires on my tt. 2012 grey wolf 17bh. 6 year old tires on it now. Factory is 205/75-14 c load. I was wondering if a 225 75 14 would be better or even go to a 15 inch. Its not the lightest trailer at 4030 dry and a max of 7200. Plan on being about 5k at most when loaded to go. Has a pair of 3500lb axles. If im spending the money i want something good and not just a that will work.

Nose around tire mfg web sites. They will all give you what you need. Compare the tire diameters andmthen go out and see if you have enough room to allow for the bigger tire.

May I ask where you have found this tire size at? The reason I ask, is I have not seen it my normal course of business in many many years.

Usually ST tires top out at a 215/75-14 in the 14 inch wheel diameter sizes.

You can get a common 225/75-15, but it's in the 15 inch wheel diameter.

The new GY Endurance trailer tires (Made in the USA) have ST205/75R14 in a Load Range "D". 2040# of load capacity at 65 PSI.

I was wrong on that size. I'am looking at 215/75/14

This is where I will probably go. Will get the 215/75R14 for a little more meat and be able to keep the same rims. Only 1/2" taller and a 1/2" wider should fit fine.

I tried it

I have a 21ss Roo, and in order to get load range D, I went to an 81 mph rated taskmaster tire from etrailer that was a 215/75-14 instead 205/75-14. It was about an inch taller tire, and I was a little worried about clearance. No problems after a long trip to Yellowstone and several shorter trips. I highly recommend going to a higher speed rating and load range. It gives you some insurance against blowouts. I often drive in AZ in August in 100 degree temperatures, and had lots of blowouts over the years. I changed to Taskmasters on all 3 of my trailers, and no problem so far. For some reason, E-trailer doesn't list the speed rating for their tires in the specs. It was mentioned in the video.
