Castle Rock brand trailer tires?

We have on order a new Flagstaff 8529IKBS. My understanding is it comes with Castle Rock ST tires, load range D. (see attached internet snag of a unit just delivered to a dealer)

My question... does anyone know who makes these tires or have any knowledge of them? An internet search turned up nothing.

PLEASE don't turn this thread into a "all tires that come on a new trailer are junk" or "all new trailer tires are China bombs". I don't want to hear that. Been there and read all of that.

If you know anything about Castle Rock ST tires, pass it along.
Thanks!

Weird. I googled up Castle Rock tires and absolutely nothing comes up. Lot of overseas manufacturers will make tires and "brand" them with whatever name the buyer wants. Think Sears selling Michelin tires "branded" with the old Sears Roadmaster name.
Won't say their good or bad, but just beware. FR has a bad habit of allowing the cheapest tires possible on their trailers. First fault would be with the frame/running gear makers.

Just google up the tire "brand name", and more than likely it will bring up a manufacturer or supplier. It will also, probably, bring up outlets that sell them, like Discount Tire or Tire Rack.
In the case of the op's "Castle Rock", couldn't find anything leading to a manufacturer or supplier.
Just kept bringing up Castle Rock, Colorado !!!

Youroo if your question about where the dealers are located is directed towards me, I have no clue where there are any Castle Rock dealers. Hence my query.

My reference to a 'dealer' in my post was simply pointing out I had found a photo of a unit sitting on a RV dealer's lot that showed this brand of tire.

Without a manufacturer's name or where they came from/sold by, you'd have a hard time with a warranty problem or claim.
At least with a brand name tire you at least know where to start.

Which is EXACTLY why I asked the question!
Just trying to get the ducks in a row before we take delivery.

picker, did a bit of digging (web finger walking)
Way to find out who manufactured the tire is on the sidewall.
Find the letters DOT, and next will be a code, 2 letters and then numbers. The 2 letters designate who the manufacturer was and the plant where made.
Take those letters and go to web site, D.O.T. Tire Plant Codes, and then try and follow their prompts.
Best I could find, hope it helps.
When your rig comes in, maybe you could have the dealer swap the tires, if their the "weird" ones, with some quality tires.

Thanks Grumpy!

Upon arrival (or if we happen upon a stock unit somewhere) I will take note of the DOT code and see what I can come up with.
Much appreciated!

picker, just for the heck of it I took the letters off of my Subi's Yokohama tires, FD, Went to the site and it indicated manufacturer, Yokohama, and country of origin, Japan. So, the site and info does work.
Have fun,
Grumpy

Before I did too much digging I would call a couple of larger local tire shops and ask them what they know about the brand. They may be of assistance.

Funny that you brought that up. Just got back from having lunch with a friend. Stopped off at a local tire shop here, Evers Tire, great place and service and well respected in this area.
Never heard of Castle Rock Tires. Thought the same, that it was an import that was "branded" with a name. Said they would try and find out info for me. As I'm a customer of their's they're going to try when time available.
If you go to the DOT Tire Plant site, you'll see hundreds of manufacturers in just about every country that has electricity. Seem that anyone who can glue two rubber bands togather can call it a tire.
How about a Dunlop tire made in Zimbabwe!!!

Just wondering. Do the tires come with the frame and who makes the frame. That may be a hint who to blame for cheap tires.

Your tires are imported by Lion's Head tire and wheel. If you google their name you will get there web site and yes Castle Rock tires are made in China. All FR brands except for Prime Time use the Lion's Head tires and wheels now.

In the back of my ever thinking widdle brain, I'm imagining some little tire company, in some little village in some mountain area of China where they get their electricity via a water wheel and a generator from a 56 Pontiac cranking out tires for the USA market.
WOW!!! Kinda scares you, don't it...
OK, Lions Head Tires. Now, there's a popular brand! Sounds like something I might find on a wheel barrow!
