Changing both tires on one side

Can we jack trailer to change both tires on 1 side to have new tires put on? Does it have to be connected to truck? We have torsion axles is that a problem? 24ft trailer.
Thanks

Yes you can jack up one side and remove both wheels. Since you should jack on the frame and not the axles anyway, just place the jack between the wheels and jack on the frame.

You don't need to be hooked to the tow vehicle, but you need to be sure the other side is chocked well.

Having said that, it would be safer if it was hooked to the TV while the wheels were off.
