Changing Trailer tires..
Greetings Road Warriors,
I've had my 2014 340RK on the road for the past 26 months and have about 10,000 miles on my tires...I always check my tire pressure everyday before travel and look to make sure that the tires are wearing evenly at the end of a major trip.. I was cleaning out my storage bay's and tightening screws around the coach when I thought .. My 5ver came with a spare tire and a tire wrench... but No Jack.. So My question is "Should the 5th Wheel have come with a Jack ?" and if not I will make sure I have one with me next trip.. Anyone have any recommendations for one... I carry everything else with me..

Use the TV jack or I carry a bottle jack and some blocking.

Trailer Aid. No muss, no fuss, no jacking, laying or kneeling down in the dirt or mud. No crawling around under unit to place/remove jack, stands, etc. If you have multi-axles, it so easy and SAFE. Obviously not for single units.

(Rightly or wrongly, here's what I did.)
I just went through this. I had a very rapid loss of air and was down to 13psi within just a couple of minutes.
I made a ramp of Lynx levelers to give me some clearance under the flat.
I then put my truck's jack on some wood and placed it right at the U-Bolt and jacked up the tire.

We had one occasion where the Trailer Aid+ didn't provide enough lift to change the tire. The 12-ton bottle jack and blocking (6x6x12 and some 4x4) has always done the job. BTW, always position the jack under the frame to prevent damage to the axle as the mfg recommends.

The Trailer Aid is a good tool to have, but you should also carry a bottle jack and plenty of blocking. I carry two sets of Lynx Levelers and a short 12 ton bottle jack just in case.

What do you do when frame is enclosed & you can't get to it & it is recommended to NOT jack the axles? Seems like the trailer aid is the way to go, or a stack of lego levelers. Was going to purchase Trailer Aid Plus today; may wait for more advise.

To answer the OP question ... pull RV's don't come with a jack and generally no lug wrench. I carry a 6 ton jack and place it under the axle between the spring ubolts. No worries with this approach in 18+ years of RVing. You're picking up way less RV this way. I'm not too comfortable with the trailer aids with fivers over 12K though some swear by them.

Torsion axles are where the Trailer Aid comes in real handy. However, I had to use the bottle jack on our previous unit a time or two. I set the jack under the hanger bracket beside the axle housing. That RV was very low to the ground so I had a short jack.
