cracking in tread

I have a 2014 Palomino 297rlds with Westlake Super st 225/75r15 tires. Today I found cracks in the tread of all four tires. Tires were manufactured 34 week 2012 and look fine from outward appearance( good tread and no sidewall cracking. ) We bought this new in Nov. 2015 and drove it home 650 miles. Since then we have driven around 100 miles and only used the trailer once. Any ideas as to what caused this and how soon do I need to replace them? Warranty issue? We have several trips coming up and don't know how unsafe this is. Thanks for any and all help.

If you have cracks in the tread the tires are unsafe and need to be replaced. Since these are ST tires that are 3 and 1/2 years old or so I thing that you have no warranty claim. I would replace them with a load range greater tire and move on.

They are known to us as china bombs. allot of us have replaced our tires with a better grade of tire and going up on capacity shortly after purchasing our RV's. Lots of posts on this forum about tires, enough to keep you reading for a very long time.

I had cracks in the treads of the tires on my car and when I went to the tire shop, they said it was dry rot. My car was just 5 years old but the tires were 6 years old. Check the manufacture date of the tires. You will probably be surprised as to when they were manufactured. The date format on the tire is wwyy (ww is the week and yy is the year they were made).

Even though the tires were made three years ago, I'd still try to make it a warranty claim since the tires were not placed in service by you, the end user, until Nov 2015. You are owed at least something for your trouble.

Thanks to all who responded. Phillyg, I am looking into filing a claim- if you don't ask.... As this was our first TT purchase I kick myself for not checking the "born on dates" on the tires It's all a learning experience, just didn't want to experience the added expense of new tires so soon. We have trips planned soon so hopefully this can be resolved quickly (riiiiiiight) Thanks again, this is why I love this forum!
