disc brake conversion using hoses in place of steel tubing

I noticed that Dexter offers a tandem axle hose set for the disc break conversion. I found it here; TIEDOWN 20 ft. Tandem Axle Disc/Drum Flexible Brake Tubing Kit #80328

Anyone see a downside to using the hose kit in place of steel tubing? It certainly would not rust. My first thought is whether it might increase the system reaction time. It would certainly make the install a lot more simple. I was ready to place my order for the Brakerite actuator with Kodiak hubs until I found the hose kit. It's also less expensive, but the difference is negligible.

Curious what you guys think,...and why.

Well, I made a couple of phone calls this morning; 1 to the vendor and 2 to the manufacturer concerning the flexible lines. I was a little surprised that they were both so honest, but both stated that the flexible lines would in fact introduce a delay into the reaction time. They assemble these kits primarily for boat trailers where routing can sometimes be difficult and where the trailer often has a surge type actuator, and the hoses are little more resistant to salt water. Anyway, components are ordered, and should arrive later this week. Great discussion anyway, and I appreciate all the comments.

With our race cars, we use stainless fuel lines or rubber.... Stainless flows better but has a tendency to crack from vibration.......Rubber doesn't flow quite the same, but doesn't crack....But can develop a flapper inside hose that, and does, starve that cylinder

Yep, I've experienced the inner lining on a rubber fuel hose come loose and caused some really weird running symptoms on a lawnmower...lol. Finally figured it out though.

I worked at MFG of "Brake Hose" made 1000s of miles of it! Trucks and cars have Hose on every Corner! No Delay! Every hose was tested at 10.000PSI! Youroo!!
