does floor plan affects weight distribution?

hello,

we are going to the dealer this weekend to view the SB 31RK, and we just heard from someone that this type of floorplan can affect the weight distribution due to the wtgs of the fridge, stove, etc., are located aft of the FW. We never thought of that and wondered if maybe that is balanced by everything else (TV, Sofa, Chairs, etc,) being midships of the FW?

now looking for backup FW in case this is true, thanks.

With the rear kitchen layout, the things you load/carry in the kitchen area help offset the weight of the gear added in the basement. With our Rockwood 8280, the pinweight % was the near the same whether empty or loaded. That Silverback 31RK spec shows a dry pinweight at 18.9%...that % may increase a bit when loaded closer to 20%...perfect!

Floorplan and storage locations make all models "not equal" when the concern is pin weight or tongue weight.

The ratio of "dry weight" to "dry pin weight" from the brochure will give you some idea if a particular floor plan will load tail heavy or nose heavy.

You can then try to load plan to off set the predisposition.

Loaded weight distribution ratio should fall between 15% and 25% (20% optimum) for 5th wheels and 10% to 15% (12.5% optimum) (pre-connection of WD bars) for travel trailers for safe handling characteristics.
