Drove over curb- busted up suspension

Good times. Laying in a Walmart parking lot at the moment...

Ouch, this surely ruins the day and I hope you can get it fixed without breaking the bank.
You may want to keep a close eye on the tires on that side from now on.

Wow...not so great welds on that shock mount. Was that from the factory?

True, nor does my unlimited supply of gorilla tape.

I’m not against buying chain and trying to tie it up- but I need to figure out wtf that really means.

Fortunately, different memberships should cover the service visit and fix cost. The bigger problem is I’m stuck because it’s Sunday. Can’t find someone to come to me.

The spring mounts are welded to the frame and part of it busted off. I don’t know the first thing to getting it resolved on my own.

Sorry, man! Yeah, this is not a DIY project. They have to get the weight off and then they probably can't weld it right back to the same broken spot. They may have to weld on a good strong backing plate to attach it to. Good luck!

Well fortunately, I looked a bit closer. It’s definitely JUST a broken leaf and everything else is intact- the hanger and all. No welding required.

No, shock mounts were aftermarket.

E'dad, unbolt the dangling spring. Lift rig by the frame and block it with wood-2x4, 6x6 or as needed. Set back on axle/frame. Wrap all with chain and bind as best you can. Should allow you to limp to a safer spot until you can get a replacement leaf spring.
You may opt to replace both on that side.

Good luck!

I remember my brother getting a leaf spring replacement at Tractor Supply on day when he had the same problem.

Whoever that is, don't let them work on your trailer again.

Also, hope that isn't gas running through that pipe under your trailer.

Could any of that be the result from the previous frame work you had done ?

Ya know, there's something there that doesn't look right... The top leaf broke right where the ends of the second and third leaf(s) in the stack terminate. The second and third leafs should not terminate in the exact same place as shown in the photo of the good side.

Sounds like a local TrueValue has a 3,300 lbs leaf spring that might work. But I’m hopeful the mechanic can get the right part.

Thanks Paulie. Now I have the info if it comes to that.
