Dumb tire question

This may seem like a dumb question, but I don't take much for granted and I can't find a direct answer on the manufacturer web sites. My toad is a Jeep Patriot with a factory installed tire pressure monitor system. Obviously, it does not register in my motor home, nor is it operational with just the accessory key on in the Jeep. I want to put a TPMS on the motorhome and put sensors for the same sytem on the jeep. Is this how it is generally done? Does having an aftermarket TPMS on the Jeep conflict with the OEM system? Will this work Ok? Thanks for your wisdom and experience.

I don't know the answer but you might call up TST or greatrvproducts.com

IMO
I would bet that the TST 507 TPMS would work just fine on the TOAD...
there should be NO interaction between OEM and add-on systems...
I have a RAM with factory TPMS and still pull my trailer with the TST 507 system...

IF the TOAD sensors do not register you can add the accessory antenna to get the signal up front in your cab...

Or just buy a good quality tire gage and learn how to use it.

As stated, the aftermarket and OE systems should play nice side by side. They should be on difference frequencies and shouldn't even see each other.

The OE sensors broadcast the whole time they're rolling down the road even with the vehicle off, I've often wondered why there isn't a system that can read the OE system as well as the aftermarket.

That's great to always check your tires but since I can't see the tires back there a good TPMS is the way to go.

Hard to do when you're going down the road.

That used to be my thinking also until I blew what I thought was a good tire on my class A and did a ton of damage. I would not have a motorhome or travel trailer without it now.

to answer the OPs question I believe adding the non-pass thru senders (so you don't have to rebalance your tires) to your car should not cause a problem.
