First Rockwood 8289 Hyd. Level up system

I thought that being a first for Lippert, they installed a 4 pt. system being I'm only 31' long and to add 2 more for 6 they said it would fight each other. They did have to reinforce the frame with to cross 2x2 box channel and some 3/16" frame extensions mounted behind my 2nd axle each jack can pick up 7000 lbs. my unit weight is about 9000 lbs.. Also removed the electrical front jacks. The hydralic jacks weight only 12 lbs each and the electrical front legs weighted about 35 to 40 lbs each. They did have to streighten the frame so it would not twist. Should of done this last year. Takes about 2 mins to level plus I can use the rear as a jack to change a tire. The front stroke is 20" and the rear are 24". I hope I can load the pics. They did a great job and the cost was $3400.00 So don't let anyone tell you you can't do it because of the light weight frames......

NICE! I am not impressed with my Rockwood's stabilizers as they seem to back off after a day or two. When we notice the trailer wobbling, I go out and invariably they have backed off a bit necessitating further extension. Even happens when we are on a solid pad, so I know it isn't the ground sinking. This should make your rig so much more stable when parked. The last photo shows the end of the axle beam, correct? Please update the post after you use it a few times.

You are correct that's the channel they welded behind the axle 3' long sold welding not tacked. We used it for 2 weeks on the way home from Goshen took some side trips. When I traveled before I always got a pull through space and hoped it was level so I didn't have to unhook. Now I unhook it takes 2 mins to become level, I did keep the rear power stabilizers on the unit. Lippert wanted to take them off but I said NO. The two front jacks are at a 15 degree angle so I can no longer use my JT'S that I had installed. Also I have the new improved controller that just came out. Works like a champ. Pretty rock solid. They gave me a 1/2 hr class on the system before they let me leave even created errors and messages so I would know how to clear and reset everything. Would I do it again in a heart beat. I'm getting older and besides being handicap. This should have been done last year at the rally but really didn't have the monies, been saving for this year knowing I was going to get it installed. Very happy with it.............

That is great to hear. Sounds like the installers not only knew what they were doing but were also smart enough to teach their customers how to operate it correctly and if it had a problem. Great investment in your rig and in convenience setting up!
