Grease for Dexter Torflex susp and EZ Lube hubs

Hey!
I have a 2014 Roo 183 with Dexter Torflex susp and EZ Lube hubs. There's a list of lubes here:

http://www.dexteraxle.com/i/u/614960...d_Bearings.pdf

on the Dexter site, but I'm having trouble finding these on Amazon. But the Valvoline VV985 Synpower gets good reviews. Thought on using this?

http://www.amazon.com/Valvoline-VV98...pr_product_top

Thanks!

Go to Napa and use Lukas #2 RED drop point 540 degrees, should meet that spec.

I've been using Royal Purple Ultra-Performance Grease...
http://www.royalpurpleconsumer.com/w...ads/PS_UPG.pdf

Meets and exceeds the mfgr ratings required.

$11.08 per tube at Amazon....
Just search for Royal Purple Ultra-Performance Grease

(Thanks for reminding me I need a few tubes since I'm tearing down the brakes next week.)

You need to be careful which type of grease you mix together. Dexter recommends that you use a lithium complex grease. If you mix other types with lithium grease they may or will react with each other and cause the grease to fail Many of the grease manufactures produce a lithium based grease you just need to make sure. If you can't find this grease check with your local auto store.

Hope this is helpful Tim

Interesting. Did not ever think about using two different types of grease and any compatibility problems.

Thanks for the help, folks! Tim, the Valvoline VV985 is listed as a "NLGI #2 GC-LB lithium complex EP grease", so, I hope I'm OK.

I also like to think my hubs are not under too much abuse, as my trailer weighs about 5000 loaded and there's 4 wheels. Those GIANT trailers always look to be crushing their tires.

If they've never been done since leaving the factory, 4 tubes. There will be a lot of empty space in there to fill when you use the zerks. If you're ordering off Amazon, ordering 4 will give you extra to occasionally pump a bit in before each trip

That should be fine but to be sure check Dexter's website. They have minimum specs and several products named as acceptable lubes in this document:

This is true. Not all greases are compatible with lithium. Would probably use what is recommended by axle manufacturer.
