These "ramps" are a great way to bend an axle out of alignment. Lifting all that weight on one stub axle is definitely overloading the axle tube and leaf spring or torsion. Good way to void those warranties and end up with misalignment.
Your next post will be, Why are my tires wearing uneven?

While I have no engineering data to back it up (though Lippert might), I think supporting a static load on one axle side would be less injurious to the axle than the dynamic loads experienced in a single tire blowout.
Losing a tire and driving a short distance to a safe area should not bend the axle, so I doubt supporting the camper static load while the changing a tire would either.
Additionally, the lifted tire load is not increased as much as you would think since the opposite side two would share the static overload.

Agree, plus it's no different than going up curbs, etc going into service stations and other places.

I have (5000+ Post) since I Built and Used this Ramp as well as Many other Members who have also used it! When should this (Uneven Tire Wear) start to show? I am only trying to give our Members a (Safe and Easy) way to Lift their units! Our Frames are (NOT) marked with a (Orange Stripe) for Lifting location as (NASCAR Cars) are! Lifting with a (Bottle Jack) in the improper area will do DAMAGE and Very UNSAFE if Kick out Occurs! Can you Please Supply the Location for the Bottle Jack to ALL Members? Youroo!!

I made a pattern of this design and built one at home, then OC made and installed my bracket to carry it. I will have it with me in Goshen if someone wants to make a pattern, I have used it once and it works great, no jack for me to worry about falling. Then you would have real problems. This is a solid lift and safe, most importantly on the side of a highway....

There are aftermarket products designed to do the same thing, like Camco Trailer Aid, Blaylock EZ Jack, & Hopkins Heavy Duty Chock & Lock. I would think these providers have done their homework on functionality, safety, etc. before marketing these devices. Great idea Youroo & OldCoot; I'll probably copy your designs & make one of my own (unless of course you have patent rights), then I'll make them & not tell anyone.

Oh now you went and did it. I was thinking of buying a set of car ramps and you went and reminded me of the wood pile out back! Now I just need to setup a self chocking groove...

I got the dimensions from the Camco Trailer Aid and just changed a few things. Copy anything you want.

On the side of the road this ramp is a lot safer than a bottle jack. I can't decide where to put a bottle jack on my triple axle anyway. I'm getting ready to rotate my tires on my triple axle and this ramp will work with easy. Thanks for the ramp idea going to make one soon.

Using the ramp your not just supporting the weight of one axle. You're lifting the weight of both tandems on one axle. It doesn't take a degree to see this.
Losing a tire had nothing to do with this. Again, a flat tire is still supporting it's weight, just now it's on the wheel. Plus the other axle is supporting it's share.
Actually, lifting a tire off the ground by the trailing or leading axle is doubling the load on that one stub axle.
As for proper jacking, place the jack under the spring plate or capture a u - bolt in the jack head and jack it just high enough to lift the tire to be removed.

Will you sign the copies at Nashville this year? Kind of like a book signing...
