HI RUN RV Tires

Does anyone have any experience with Hi Run ST tires. I need a new spare for my 5th wheel and my Maryland Dealer only has these.

Hi Run is a Chinese tire that you'll often see carried in Tractor Supply and Rural King.
They make a lot of ATV type tires too.

If it's a spare (and you don't need it immediately) have your dealer get you something better. (I won't go into that debate, there's plenty of good alternatives)

Will not be able to call them China bombs much longer. Maybe NC China bombs?

StarTribune article on Chinese Tire Manufacturer moving to NC.
READ HERE
I didn't see anything specific to ST tires but maybe.

Snipit from the article...
"A state committee that administers large corporate tax breaks approved plans to coax Triangle Tire to rural Edgecombe County, about 65 miles (100 kilometers) east of the state capital of Raleigh. The $580 million plant is the first in the United States for the Weihai, a China-based maker of tires for passenger vehicles, trucks and buses and heavy equipment."

They are about the cheapest tire there is. I would buy a used tire for a spare before I bought one of those.

Stay away

I was unfortunate enough to have 4 of these on my 5th wheel.
And, I am very careful about monitoring tire pressures.
Two of them exploded. I would urge the reader NOT to buy these tires.

what would be nice is a comprehensive list of tires and manufacturers, and how good the tires are, I have a new 2018 wildwood- and would have paid 400 bucks more for the best tire instead of Castle-Rock...what the heck is a castle rock? All I can think of is the smell of Harbor Freight when you enter the door...it smells like decaying rubber

Do you need just a tire or tire and wheel? If your not in a big hurry I would just order a new wheel and MY choice of tire. Not what the dealer wants me to buy.

Have run these tires for years with a lot of success. My tires are oversize in ply rating. Higher rating than needed for my trailer. Rated for 65 I almost never go over 65 unless due to head space and timing. Run around 78 pounds in them.

In Maryland. I don't know if I'm allowed to recommend. But here goes. Rice tire. They have a few locations. I have used Frederick and Gaithersburg. I do my business in Gaithersburg mostly, the Guys are great, Prices even better. Look into Goodyear Endurance. I've been very good at Killing ST Tires. But not the Goodyear. So far. Worth a thought. Good luck,

Thumbs up Good year

Removed tires on new fortify foot 5er at four hundred miles. Put on Good Year 614’s and yes they are priced higher. Why have the agervation and chance of expensive repairs!

Are they ST tires or light truck? Since Cedar Creek recommends ST tires, I think I will stick with them.
