It could have been so much worse
We're headed to Door County Wisconsin with the camper for an art fair. Stopped for dinner, and as I bent down to tie my shoe I happened to glance at the tire of the camper right next to me. Huge crack in the sidewall! DH said it would be fine. Me? Yeah, not in my book! ( in his defense he's a diehard optimist married to a major pessimist!) Went to eat and came back and the tire was almost completely flat (divine intervention?) So he put the spare on and away we go. The tire has a lot of weather checking, which I didn't see only a few weeks ago. It was our plan to get new tires this year. Guess it will just be next week instead of next month. Thank goodness I glanced at the tire. I can only imagine what would have happened if it failed at 65 mph.

Glad you caught it.
I firmly believe "there are no coincidences". You didn't feel your guardian angel tuggin' on your shoe laces did ya.

Must have been one that caused me to check my side view mirror just as my left rear bearing failed. Not a big believer in angels, but I am glad whoever tapped my shoulder did when they did...

Okay. Drum roll please.....
Our tires, the original tires that came with the camper, are Duro. They were manufactured in 2010. So I think we did pretty darn good with tire life.
We have decided to replace them with Goodyear Marathon ST tires and we're going from a C load rating to a D load rating.
Now all we have to do is find someone to put them on, and we're good to go.
Please, let all the discussion/critique/opinions/facts/non-truths, etc. start.

Not sure you're far enough west for Les Schwab. If you are, pay them a visit. When we bought our Class A we got a full set of six for 19.5 wheels, including CRES valve stems for about $2300, four years ago.The tires were less than 6 weeks from their mold date.

IMHO excellent choice. I just had the OEM 'Trail Distress' LRC tires changed this morning for GY Marathon LRD, balanced with the TST 507RV TPMS sensors on them. The only travel the OEMs did was the trip from Indiana. I just was not comfortable with GVWR being around 93% of tire load - especially when the 8282WS seems like it can't help but be heavy on the driver's side. Those China-bombs looked like sad little water balloons under that trailer.
