Jack ? Where?

Hi all--I have a 2014 Freedom express 246rks--got to thinking,if i had a flat, what jack should be used--apparently there is no jack on my trailer--also,where in the heck do you jack from ?? I know that i shouldnt put the jack on the axle..So the jack would have to be really tall--ANY BODY ?? Nick

You can jack on the frame. It's best if you can spread the load out. And, as you said, you'll need a fair amount of cribbing to get the jack high enough.

If it's a torsion axle, you jack where the axle is mounted to the frame. There's usually a square tube there that you can get the jack under.

Otherwise, I don't have torsion axles and will jack between the u-bolts, on it, or very near it. Like so:

Otherwise, lots of people use a ramp like the Trailer Aid. While others have concerns about you overloading the tire that all of the weight is then carried by.

Hope that helps!

You do not have a lug wrench that will fit the TT either. You will get many suggestions as there are some devices you can use to lift the wheel. I use a large bottle jack on a block or two. I use a 2x6x6 block between the jack head and the shackle that is used to mount the axle. I have never had an issue with this setup.

Lug nuts

I wont be carrying a torq wrench so how tight do they need to be? Last flat it was really tough to break the nut loose. >?

Probably should get a torq wrench. They are not that expensive. You should check the nuts every once in awhile anyway to be safe. Check the manual (), it should tell you what the torq specs are (usually 90 to 100 pounds).
