Just noticed I didn't get a spare tire?

I just noticed my new Salem 26TBUD didn't include a spare tire or the mount on the rear bumper.

Any suggestions? I can purchase a spare tire/wheel and throw it in the truck. Any recommendations on a bumper mount solution? Are there after market universal kits or should I get one from Forest River/Salem?

Thanks for any help, I can't believe I over looked this. But I guess it's better now then on the road after I jacked up the camper.

Did you check with your dealer to see if there was supposed to be a spare? I know Jayco hides them up underneath the TT.

I double checked the original ad from the dealer and the pictures of it. It made no mention of a spare tire, and it wasn't on the bumper in the pictures. I have seen other Salem's with a rear bumper spare tire but not mine. I don't think it's under, I'll have to take a peek...

When I bought my camper I didnt notice that right away either. I was brand new to the camping scene. My dealer installed the spare tire mount and spare right away. At an extra cost of course, but what can ya do? Its something that needs to be done.....Happy Camping!

I think on the TBUD, it is optional equipment.
When I bought my old TBUD, I had to get a spare myself and I attached it to the 4" bumper (probably not the best mount point).

I think all said is was under $200 for the tire, rim and mount.

I got all three from the dealer.

I see the Salem 26TBUD has the option for the rear storage, does your trailer include the rear storage? My trailer is equipped with the rear storage (WW23BHLE), my spare tire is in that storage area.

Also, you can go to a local tire dealer and buy the rim and a tire, and yes you can throw it in the back of the truck.

it's an option on almost all trailers, with nearly all manufacturers.

I took my spare off the rear bumper and mounted it up front underneath.
I've got a 4" square bumper mount.
And a hard shell spare tire cover. $20 bucks plus actual shipping.
Drop me a PM if interested. Or you can pick it up in Louisville KY.

parents camper the spare is inside in a cubby in the floor near the rear door. kinda neat but if the trailer is full of stuff then it would be a pain to get out!

If u need a spare, try a cargo, utility trailer dealer. U can usually buy the whole thing for abt the cost of a tire. Take a wheel with u to get a match on the bolt configuration.
Ur trailer dealer may b able to give the same deal.
I bought a 16" 6 bolt w/tire for 135 last yr. (ld range E).
