Kumho 857 tires !!

Been running the 857's for a few years. Lost one a few months it had a big bubble on the side. Lost the other to a blow out. No warning no heat build up in either tire. Thought I would share. Maybe 7000 miles.

I hope the blow out didn't do any damage. I liked the 857 when towing my pop up. Bubbles in sidewall are usually from a large impact like curb or pothole. Are you staying with them or moving to another brand?

I have had less than admirable service from Kumho 857's on my TT. In last two years, separation of tread on two and one had a huge bubble on sidewall of tire. No overload or aging, just poor quality tires made in Vietnam! Only reason I purchased was for the 8 ply rating for 14" tires. Purchased at Discount Tire and must be shipped to store from Rancho Cucamonga, California. Just completed trip and had tread separation first 200 miles. Fortunately had time to layover in East Texas on departure date and ordered tires (2) through Discount Tire. Kumho had four in stock and I bought two! Not a reliable supply!

Might have hit something with the tire. The roads in OKLA aren't the best for sure. Looking at Hankook RA-08 Radial tire or maybe a new trailer. Need a little more room. Would like a 15 inch wheel with two axles. On my third set of tires in 3 years.

I've had great luck in Korean made Nexen Roadian CT8 HL
Very heavy/well built and tons of thread.
Been running them on my 5th wheel for about 7k miles now with no issues.

Best thing is they are $110 per tire.

Here are specs. I believe that heavier tire weight is a positive. 40lbs per tire with 15/32 thread!!!!

Carlisle has recently came out with an 8 ply rated 14 inch ST tire.

Radial Trail HD

Everyone was using the Euro sized commercial tires like the Kumho 857 and Hankook RA08 since it was the only way to get an 8 ply rated tire in a 14 inch rim diameter, but that has recently been changing, as shown with the new Carlisle tire.
