Landing extending unevenly

Just purchased a used 2005 sportsman 305rk 5th wheel. The landing gear extends unevenly, with the right side extending farther. When retracted they are even. Previous owner advises he never had problem
or had them worked on. Ideas / solutions?

As long as you can block them up evenly it really shouldn't matter if they come down uneven.
You're landing gear does have pins to adjust the lower legs correct?
Sometimes I have to adjust two or three pin holes difference to make the landing gear even .
I guess it really doesn't make sense why they come up to the top even but go out uneven.

Are the landing gear hydraulic? I can't see this happening with a electric gear driven set-up.

Yes the landing gear has pins and I adjust them so legs start out even. The landing gear is electric motor/gear not Hyd. I can hear a slight clicking on the leg that doesn't extend at the samae rate. thinking internak gear problem? I have no idea of how they work internaly

It may have one tooth chipped off the gear causing the problem.

That would make sense and explain why they retract to the proper position. Guess I will
have to take it in and have the gears replaced.

Been looking for this post. My 2013 rockwood 8282ws is the same way. Drivers side landing gear is about 3/4" shorter than curb side. I'm on level driveway and the only way to make them touch simultaneously is by putting pad under one side. Should not be that way.

Well in reality the holes are 1" apart so you have only a 1/4" difference between the landing gear.

1/4" is minimal imo.

I'm not sure how a 1/4" "really" effects your leveling.

Imo I would hitch up to the truck lift the landing gear and disconnect the cross bar between the two landing stabilizers and and turn one or the other landing gears one turn to closer sync them then rebolt cross bar.

I'll try that. The concern is in the torquing of the frame when it twists and puts pressure on the slides.

I would think you could get the 1/4" required by doing on rotation .

Have you measured both "inner" sleeves and seen if they were the same?
By sleeves I mean the two pieces on either side that move in and out.

Yea. I'm beginning to think the difference may be the natural lean to drivers side. All the added weight is on that side so maybe it sags. I'll need to level it to measure same height from slab up to trailer, then hook up to truck and measure. I'm sure it leans left. Super slide, frig, stove, TV, corian counter, bed slide, bath are all on that side. One shorter slide on curb side.

After shearing off one of the bolt heads I had to readjust my landing gear. Just as stated, while the one bolt was out I manually rotated the bar to get them lined up again. I also recently installed an adjustable footpad that allows finer adjustment on uneven ground when you just cant easily line up with the pin holes.

Can you take a picture or tell me where you got this adjustable footpad?
Thanks

You can do the same with a hitchpin replacing the bolt in the cross shaft. Simply set the passenger side with the cross shaft connected, remove the hitchpin and adjust the driver side with the jack motor.

I would put a jam nut on that just to be sure it did not move.
