Maintenance of leaf springs etc.

Just thought I would tell what I discovered while underneath my 5er(2009 Silverback, 35 ft.) yesterday. I was trying to grease the wet bolt system and discovered a broken shackle on the left rear leaf spring. Made a call at 0730 this morning to a spring repair service. They took me right away as I explained we were all packed up and ready to leave Saturday morning. They replaced the set of shackles on the leaf spring and gave me a couple of spares as well as a spare leaf spring. We're now good to go. The 5er has been in storage since last September. We were lucky. The shackle probably broke on our 7100 mile trip out west and back last summer. So maybe it would be a good practice to check out the underside closely every once in a while, or make it part of the circle check. I feel much better now that we're safer than we were yesterday.
