Mastertrack Tires ?

I just checked my tires on the 2004 5er that I purchased last May. The tire tread looked good but I just had a bad feeling about them and especially with a trip coming up in April which is a seven hour drive . So Saturday I put the 5er up on jacks stands and took off all four tires to inspect them. When I did I noticed one of the tires had separated showing a high and low side when looking at the tread from an above position. So, I took all four and had new tires installed today. The tire place in my rural area had Master track ST225/75R15 -10 Ply in stock. Tire guy told me these were a good tire. I remember one of my previous 5er's had this brand on them. Anyone else know anything about them. I'm sure they are a Chinese brand. Anyway tire guy said it was a good thing I replaced them. He also found a slight bulge on the side top of another tire.

I would guess no better than the rest of the China bombs. Just a few days ago, I got 4 Maxxis tires from Discount Tires eBay store. These tires seem to be the best rated of all ST tires, and the price was good. Free shipping also.

You'll be fine. IMO, many of the China Bomb stories are "over blown". That's a joke.

Thanks for the replies. Even though they are made in China they look like a really good tire. I've been buying tires from the same guy for 15 years and he said they we're really good tires so I guess the future will tell.

do a Goggle search for Mastercraft reviews. They are part of Cooper tire, and the reviews for both are not good.

I did check out reviews on Mastertrack tires. Not sure with your statement on (Mastercraft tires). I guess like all things you check reviews on there are some that like them and some that don't. There were quiet a few bad reviews on the LT Mastertrack tires but I have the ST tires which I did find a lot of good reviews on. Also I have the 10 Ply so I hope they will do well.

Same with Firestone... Goodyear.. Michelin.. It's like the Ford vs Chevy vs dodge debate it will go one forever and will never have a winner. I've used cooper's on all sorts of vehicles without an issue ever..

no, it's not the same. There is a difference and the failure I've seen on Cooper is at a higher rate than the other top brands. Not saying every one will fall apart. Most wont. I've mounted a million. Seen the difference in quality.

What's the update did you get Mastertrack? I'm considering some.
