Thanks, Glen. I'm not sure that's my wheels, but it did give me a kick in the pants.
Here's a picture of my wheels/tires:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/dougse...etaken-public/
I did some searches and found this:
Home Page - this seems like it was the start of a website. But one of the pictures from the homepage appears to be of my wheel. That gave me a name- Lionshead Lynx.
I then found that tire and more pictures other places:
16" 8 Lug Panther Silver HD Aluminum Trailer Wheel
15X5 865 Aluminum Wheel - Silver | SL513 | Nuera Trailer Parts
As far as I can tell, the maximum rating on these wheels is 3,960 lbs.
Which, looking back at your PDF appears that the maximum PSI would be at 110 psi. Which seems to indicate that these wheels are fine up to 110 psi.
Which then seems to indicate that the Goodyear G614 would give me added capacity at a lesser cost than changing wheels + tires.
Goodyear RV Tires – Tire Selector
I've also emailed the contact that I had at Lionshead from back when I had my warranty issue asking if she could identify my wheels. We'll see how that goes.

I do think I'm likely to either go with Goodyear G614 tires on these wheels or go whole hog on the 17.5" wheels and load range H tires.
PLUS- we are going to continue the camper diet and strive to shed more weight. Anyone need a kid or two?

Did miss something? Are you overweight or almost maxed out. I see you have less than 14,000# on the two axles (7,000 X 2). The rest of the weight is on the 5th wheel pin.
Just move all your adult beverages to the front closet and let the TV carry it.

In the individual wheel weights, one of my tires is maxed out and two others are very close (20 pounds shy).
And for moving stuff, short of sending it to the TV or basement- there's not a whole lot we can do. We are working on removing excess and are getting there slowly. But, I'd still like some breathing room on the tires.

Does anyone know what rims they used on 2012 Crusader? I would like to upgrade my tires and also would like to know what tire pressures the factory rims will withstand. Lots of good responses on this thread.

You need to reconsider this option. It must not have been a favorable decision.
Make a note to self so you will remember: DO NOT PUT A NAIL or BULGES IN TIRE.

Yeah, but when I did- the wife approved new tires. I just wish I had made a different choice at the time.

Here's what I received:
Quote:
The specs you have requested are attached, please just keep in mind that if you put a heavier tire on the wheel you will need to be sure to have a high pressure valve stem in the wheels.
|
Click on this attachment and then click on it again to see it full-screen:
So, it looks like I can go up to the 3960 lbs. and 110 psi of the Goodyears. Or swap the whole kit out for 17.5" wheels.
Decisions, decisions...

Tell her you need a new truck.
See how that works out for you.
You never know.
The BOSS told me I could start looking at new trucks.
She said I could look.
She didn't say anything about buying.

Yep- shoulda taken care of this while I could.
I'm now sitting on I-80/I-94 just inside of Indiana while waiting on "Hoosier Helpers" to come sit behind me so that I can change a flat tire on the camper. Thankfully it's on the passenger side and thankfully I made sure to buy a TPMS before this trip. It just saved my tush!

Yep- I'd just planned on finding somewhere for new wheels and tires. I'm an ass- I knew that tire was suspect and really should have put the spare on before leaving the Detroit area and definitely before getting on the road this morning. But I was trusting the TPMS to warn me of issues (which it was- that tire was running a few psi higher than the rest and a bit hotter than the rest). I hit a bad pot hole and then TPMS went off next. Because of the TPMS, I didn't have a blow out and it's paid for itself in damage saved. The tire lost pressure really fast- less than 5-10 minutes it was down to 17psi.

Maxed out and overweight LR E tires - wmtire & Tireman9, ideas?
I ordered 17.5" wheels- the same Lynx wheels as what I have now just in a bigger size. And I ordered 17.5" Continental HTL2 tires. I ordered them from www.trailertiresandwheels.com.They're being sent straight to a shop in Elkhart who will replace the springs and check brakes and grease bearings or something.
This will give me increased capacity so that I'm not right at the max of a few of the components.

I think I remembered reading that you were getting bigger springs.
What about the axles, will they handle the extra weight?
Again, I'm proving that I know nothing about all the tow capacities of these components that you are changing but just wanted to ask the above question, maybe, if nothing else, to help "learn" me something.

The axles are still 7,000 lb. axles and I'll be right at their limits. I haven't considered changing them yet. We will see how these changes perform before I start considering 8,000 lb. axles.
My random thinking is... If I trade the camper, the wheels + tires will come with me, so I'm only out the cost of springs and installation. The axles ", if I did them, would be another thing that I'd have to leave behind.

My first thought that came to mind was that line in Jaws, "We're going to need a bigger boat!"
I'm not a big fan of being near the limits of anything.
You know what happens when there is too much of you in your pants?

The other benefit is that these tires are speed rated at 75mph. Not that I tow faster than 62 or so, I'll feel less bad the few times that I exceed 65mph (generally passing someone).
