Maxxis 8008 VS. Hercules Power STR Radiials

Yes, another tire thread (SORRY!). I Went to get some prices in my small town for the Maxxis (225/75-15 E) and only one tire shop said he could get them. His price was $560.00. Another shop said he would only run the Hercules. I have never used the Hercules. I do have 10 year old Maxxis on my utility trailer which is over loaded sometimes and I have never had one problem with them. He said I could get the Hercules at $75.00 a tire. A pretty good difference in cost. BUT, I'm looking for a good tire, even if it cost a little more.
Would like to hear for other who may have some experience with these tires.
(BTW: I also have a TPMS)
TIA for time! HAPPY RVING!

They are both good tires. I have 16K miles on my Hercules without a hiccup. They have been from Maine to California, actually about 30 states. Never worried about them. It was the only ST my shop sold and that was good enough for me. I could have ordered Maxxis, but I didn't see the point. I know I paid more than that a few years ago.

Herc makes a good tire. P tires came on my daughters Lincoln 84,000 miles ago and still have another 10,000 before needing changed. Choosing between Herc and Maxxis I still choose Carlisle.

i've used the Hercules on both my truck and tt , never any issues . I have the E-rated hercules on the th now with over 8000 mi no issues . i'll buy another set when these wear out . Or you can spend more and get a good comparable tire like the maxxis

Why? You want another ten years or you want to do tire testing? HaHa.

Maxis Tire

A little help please on Maxxis tires. Seem to have the best reviews. My local dealer can get me a set of 4 225 75R/15 'E' rated, 80 psi mounted, balanced & out the door for $560. Is this a reasonable price? Would appreciate any info.

Best price I've found on line is $480, delivered to you. $20 each for installing and balancing seems reasonable. Support your local dealer when you can.

When I bought mine, I ordered from Home - Discount Tire Direct. I then took them to a local tire shop for mounting.

I paid $ 90 a piece mounted and balanced with free rotations . yes it's a good idea to rotate TT tires . but then again they were the comparable long lasting Hercules 225/75/r/15 st e rated at 2830lbs
