Sorry Larry. You're guessing and wrong. My Goodyear E's were at the same pressure hot as the previous Castle flops and there was no comparison. It's not even debatable.

I had GY Endurance put on the 5er before we brought it home. Only about 50 miles on them so far.

I was cleaning them and noticed multiple depressions in the sidewalls on all four tires. The picture shows two of them a little over 3 inches apart. I did notice there are matching dents on the opposite sidewall. Most of them are spaced at least a foot apart. One tire had two dents 180 degrees apart.

Has anyone else noticed this on their Endurance tires?

those depressions or ripples are not uncommon in tires of all makes and brands. They do not effect the performance of the tire. All four of my tires on my truck have a ripple in them.

Looks like they recommend 65psi from your attachment for D’s.

65PSI is the pressure needed for max load, it is not a recommendation for what to run the tire at regardless of load. That is why there is a load and inflation chart.

X2 on the Goodyears
When we got ours home last fall from the dealer I pulled off the Tow Max tires that came on it and went to the ST 235 85R 16. (Moved up from 235 80R 16) I helped change the Tow Max to the Goodyears. Big difference in the sidewall thickness and the weight. The Goodyears were so stiff it was hard to work them around. I was very glad we had a modern tire machine that did the work. We now have over 6000 miles on them with no trouble. I run them at 80psi cold and watch temps on a hot day reach 89*. We have been in a Colorado windstorm with side gusts reaching 50 mph last spring. I am impressed so far and time will tell on how many miles we can get on them.
Good luck with your new Goodyears and I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Just ordered some. Trailer came with 205/75/14 tires but I ordered 215/75/14's. Should there be any issues?

Not so... We recently replaced our OE LR C tires with LR E Endurance tires. We run the same pressure (50 PSI as per GY's load/inflation table) as we did for the OE LR C tires. There is noticeably less trailer sway at that same tire pressure and the Endurance tires run cooler than the old OE Duros.

I just put on new master track ST 225/75R15’s 10 Ply and the tire place said to run them @ 60 psi. I have a forest river superlite 5th wheel that weighs 8000 empty. Camper sticker says to run them @ 50psi. The tires are rated @ 80 psi. What would you guys do?

Just to add my two cents in, I've had my Goodyear Endurance tires for 1 year now, and so far I've been very happy with the ride and performance. I do tow what the speed limit allows, including 75 mph when possible. I also tow a fifth wheel at around 9300 lbs, with the tires at 80 psi. I have the 16 inch tires on my Jayco from the factory, as an option, and much better than my last Cedar Creek china bombs, that lasted 11 months. I am on a trip north and have traveled over 1200 miles so far and am have now traveled approximately 3500 miles on these tires. I will check back when I get home and see how the next 1200 or so miles go.

Endurance defect

I replaced all my tires, 4 on the ground and spare, with Goodyear Endurance. The trailer pulled very well and while I didn’t drive any faster I felt more confident that they would hold up which one of the factory tires didn’t. When I got home from about a 400 mile trip I happened to look down at a tire and saw a long split in sidewall, the tire wasn’t flat but yo could look down into the slot and see the carcass of the tire. The dealer replaced without charge but I will watch more closely.

Based on your empty weight, I'd run them at 65 psi.

Hello,
The GY’s have great rep., no bout a doubt it. I opted for the Carliesle D with 8 ply. My toyhauler is only bout 5500# dry. Great tire great price.
I’m not even saying what PSI I run. 😂
Happy Traveling!

Maybe Tireman9 will have some advice on this....

I have been on the fence about changing out the tires. My brother is a mechanical engineer and grew up working for our father who was a mechanic and had his own shop... and he looked them over and said the factory installed tires are fine and convinced me to leave them.

I recently had a less than desirable drive late one night when all the 18 wheelers were trying to fly down the road to get to their rest stops. Truck after truck was passing me fast and then cutting in close in front of me. It lasted for about 3 hours. It wasn't until around 11:30 that night that the parade of trucks seemed to slow down. Anyway, that last experience has me really looking into options to help in those sorts of situations.

I'm trying to figure out the cost vs. benefit of switching out the tires. Do you think the cost of the tires are worth the benefits? Can you elaborate more on your experiences with them?

That's a subject evaluation. To me, it was worth it for the peace of mind. To others, it may not be. Some factory tires may last for several years, some may not. To me, based on my situation, it was worth it to upgrade to the Endurance tires.

Tire manufacturer's Recommendation.

RV manufacturer recommendation for tire pressure is based on the tire delivered with the rig. You change tires and pressure recommended may change. 65 psi is the correct pressure for the Goodyear Endurance tire. Running 80 psi will result in premature wear, at the least, and a blowout resulting from overheating at the worst. 80 psi in those this is asking for trouble.
